What will Grand Rapids Voters be voting on in August?
For the August 3, 2010 Election Grand Rapids voters will be voting on the following:
REPUBLICAN and DEMOCRATIC candidates for the following partisan offices:
• Governor
• Representative in Congress – 3rd District
• State Senator – 29th District
• Representative in State Legislature – 75th, 76th, and 86th Districts
• County Commissioner – 6th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th & 19th Districts
• Precinct Delegates

How do I get an Absentee Voter Ballot?
Absentee voter ballots are available for all elections. They provide voters with a convenient method for casting a ballot when they are unable to attend the polls on Election Day.
As a registered voter, you may obtain an absentee voter ballot if you are:
• age 60 years old or older
• unable to vote without assistance at the polls
• expecting to be out of town on election day
• in jail awaiting arraignment or trial
• unable to attend the polls due to religious reasons
• appointed to work as an election inspector in a precinct outside of your precinct of residence.
Absentee Voter Ballots will be available at the City Clerk's Office during regular office hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In addition, persons may obtain an Absentee Voter Ballot at the City Clerk's Office on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and may vote in person on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

The last date to apply for an absent voter ballot by mail is July 31, 2010.
